Their phonk is bruised and nocturnal: lo-fi drums, hollow 808s, chopped-and-screwed vocal fragments soaked in tape hiss and vinyl crackle that conjure midnight drives and flickering neon. It's nostalgic and menacing at once, like a haunted radio signal guiding you through empty city streets.
Murkclave came together when a crate-digging producer, a reverb-obsessed DJ, and a cassette-sampling MC started trading midnight demos beneath an old Memphis overpass. They bonded over dusty rap tapes, vintage car samples, and the ritual of recording in empty shops, turning late-night broadcasts into their first atmospheric EP.
